Have an older LED TV with an HDMI port but no apps? Plug in the Fire TV Stick HD, connect to Wi-Fi and you can watch Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Disney+, Apple TV+ and other popular apps on the big screen. It is a much cheaper upgrade than buying a new smart TV, and it also works well on hotel, office and bedroom TVs.

Wi-Fi 6 for smoother streaming

The 2026 Fire TV Stick HD is the first HD model with Wi-Fi 6. It handles busy home networks better than older Wi-Fi 5 sticks, so videos start faster and buffer less – especially useful when several phones and laptops share the same router. It works with older routers too.

Full HD 1080p with HDR

Stream in crisp 1080p Full HD at up to 60fps, with HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG support for brighter, more vivid colour on compatible TVs. Dolby Atmos audio can pass through to a compatible soundbar on supported titles.

Alexa Voice Remote

The new stick is about 30% slimmer than older Fire TV Sticks, so it fits behind wall-mounted TVs more easily. It has a 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 8GB of storage for your apps and Bluetooth 5.3 for headphones and game controllers. With Direct Power, it can draw power from your TV’s USB port using the included USB-C cable.

Things to know before you buy

Power adapter not included: Amazon only includes a USB-C cable in the box. You can power it from your TV’s USB port, but a TV port may not give enough power and switches off with the TV. For the most reliable use, plug it into a 5V USB wall adapter.
New Vega OS: the 2026 model runs Amazon’s new Vega OS. Main apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube and Disney+ are available, but installing apps from outside the Amazon Appstore (sideloading APK files) is not supported.
HD, not 4K: it streams up to 1080p. For a 4K TV, choose a Fire TV Stick 4K model.
You need an HDMI TV, a Wi-Fi internet connection and an Amazon account.
